Pair of top-10 results for BLR in Baby Rattler
In Friday’s Baby Rattler 125 at South Alabama Speedway, Bryson Lopez Racing (BLR)’s Garrett Smith posted an eighth-place finish in his first pavement Pro Late Model start, while his teammate Brandon Lopez rallied from a spin to come home ninth.
The dual Chevrolet SS Pro Late Models were part of a 25-car field at the 4/10-mile track in Kinston, Alabama. Lopez qualified 19th for the race in his No. 6 Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction Chevrolet, while Smith started 22nd in his No. 10 Cadillac Ranch Chevy.
Smith, an accomplished Dirt Late Model racer, methodically climbed through the field in the 125-lap main event. He entered the top 10 with just a handful of circuits remaining before finishing eighth.
Lopez meanwhile entered the top 10 on lap 46 and was running sixth when he was turned near the end of the race. He restarted at the tail of the field and recovered to finish ninth.
