Brandon Lopez competes at Hickory and Tri-County

Georgia-based Bryson Lopez Racing (BLR) competed for two nights in North Carolina over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, with driver Brandon Lopez taking on a pair of Tar Heel State tracks.

On Thursday, Lopez was behind the wheel of the team’s No. 6 Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction Legend Car in a 35-car field at Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, North Carolina. Lopez qualified 15th on the worn 0.363-mile oval and finished 17th in the 25-lap feature.

Hudson, North Carolina’s Tri-County Speedway was the site of BLR’s Saturday stop. Lopez raced in the Outlaws class at the 4/10-mile speed plant and qualified on the pole with a 15.365-second lap in his No. 7L ride. However, he ran into trouble early in the 50-lap race and finished in seventh position.
