Brandon Lopez scores CPLMS runner-up finish at Hickory
Bryson Lopez Racing traveled to Hickory Motor Speedway for Saturday’s 75-lap Carolina Pro Late Model Series (CPLMS) event at the historic 0.363-mile oval in Newton, North Carolina. Brandon Lopez turned in a strong performance behind the wheel of the team’s No. 6 LeeBoy Chevrolet SS and inched closer to his first Pro Late Model win.
Lopez began the event by turning in the quickest time in qualifying with a 14.831-second lap. He redrew the No. 1 to lead the field to green in the $1,000-to-win main event for the first time in his short career.
After showing the way in the race’s opening circuits, Lopez ultimately finished as runner-up, 0.755 seconds behind winner Sheflon Clay. Ronnie Dowless Jr., Dexter Canipe III and Andrew Tagliamonte rounded out the top five.
