Pair of strong performances for BLR at South Alabama
Bryson Lopez Racing (BLR) took on Kinston, Alabama’s South Alabama Speedway on Friday and Saturday during the 50th annual Rattler Weekend. The Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction-backed team competed in both the UARA-sanctioned Super and Pro Late Model classes at the 4/10-mile oval, bringing home solid results in each.
On Saturday, Brandon Lopez turned in an impressive qualifying effort in the Super Late Model program, guiding his No. 6 LeeBoy Chevrolet to the second-quickest time among 35 cars. He started from the front row in the $50,050.50-to-win Rattler 250 and held a spot inside the top three until approximately lap 160. After pitting for tires, trouble with the right front forced Lopez to slide through the field. He finished in 11th position.
In Friday’s Pro Late Model show, T.J. DeCaire qualified eighth aboard the No. 47 Sarens Chevy from the BLR stable. He picked up two spots during the $10,000-to-win Baby Rattler 125 and came home sixth.
