BLR continues season with CARS Tour opener at Southern National
Bryson Lopez Racing (BLR) brought its two full-time zMAX CARS Tour entries to Southern National Motorsports Park on Saturday for the series’ 2026 opening day. Chase Burgeson turned in the best result for the team with a top-15 result in the Pro Late Model class, while Brandon Lopez showed speed in the Late Model Stock portion of the event.
Driving the No. 22 Burgeson’s Heating, A/C, Electrical, Solar & Plumbing Toyota Camry from the BLR stable, Burgeson qualified 16th out of 25 Pro Late Model entries at the 4/10-mile oval in Lucama, North Carolina. He picked up two spots in the $5,000-to-win KevinSaysYes.com 100 to finish 14th.
In Late Model Stocks, Lopez turned in a strong third-place qualifying effort in his BLR ride prepared by Trevor Ward Motorsports. He began the race in solid position, keeping his No. 6 LeeBoy Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 inside the top five for the first 23 laps of the Folsom Fence Supply 125. However, he ultimately fought handling issues and multiple instances of contact in the $10,000-to-win race. He came home 20th in the 30-car field.
