Luke Baldwin posts 9th-place result in CARS Tour run at Ace
Bryson Lopez Racing (BLR) unloaded three cars at Ace Speedway over the weekend for the zMAX CARS Tour’s annual trip to the tricky 4/10-mile oval in Altamahaw, North Carolina. In his first start of the year with the team, Luke Baldwin turned in the organization's strongest result at the Accelerated Graphix 250 with a top-10 finish.
Driving the No. 47 Atlanta & Paving Concrete Construction machine, Baldwin qualified 11th for the 100-lap, $4,000-to-win Pro Late Model race. He climbed two positions and finished ninth in the 24-car field. His Pro Late Model teammate, Chase Burgeson, rolled off 11th in the No. 22 Burgeson’s Heating, A/C, Electrical, Solar & Plumbing Toyota Camry from the BLR stable. He suffered mechanical issues during the race and came home 20th with a DNF.
In the $7,000-to-win Late Model Stock event, Brandon Lopez qualified his No. 6 LeeBoy Chevrolet 23rd out of 28 cars. In a physical 125-lap contest, he was collected in multiple accidents and finished five laps down in 24th.
Kaden Honeycutt, 2024 Pro Late Model champion with BLR, swept the two races. He became the first driver in CARS Tour history to achieve that feat.
